Studio Recording rates
To record at Thompsound Music you can expect to pay around £25/hour.
All editing, mixing and mastering is also charged at £25/hour.
Alternatively, an overall fee for the finished project is negotiable.
Thursday and Friday daytimes are preferable but all is flexible.
Location Recording rates
For Thompsound Music to come to you to record your concert/gig you are looking at around £300.
This would include recording some of the rehearsal and/or staying after the concert/gig to re-record any moments that could have gone better during the performance for splicing into the edit at a later date.
The choice then is for you to have all the files yourselves to edit/mix/master yourselves or for Thompsound Music to edit/mix/master back at the Thompsound Music premises.

Session Musician rates
For session musicians to appear on your project you can expect to pay each musician UK Musician’s Union (MU) rates. This is currently at £120 per 3 hour session or part thereof.*
Recording costs will be on top and negotiated.
Billy’s rate which includes recording costs is £120 per 3 hour session or part thereof. For composing/arranging of a string section there will be a negotiable surcharge.
